I thank the Lord for you, because your desire for God encourages me. What a privilege we have of enjoying this time together.\par \par We will be sharing some very basic truths in these emails. Many of you know and practice them already. That is wonderful. But for the beginners, I feel that it is good to outline these principles that will help us all in our quest for spiritual renewal.\par \par Our goal for these 21 days is to become more spiritually invigorated, more focused on God, and to learn to truly delight in His Word. We can\rquote t do this without Him, so we must seek Him at every step. Let\rquote s do that right now:\par \par Our Precious Heavenly Father, You have promised to give us Your Holy Spirit. You are extremely eager to do just that. We ask you to help us, Father, to WANT Your Spirit, with a deep, intense longing. Prepare our hearts to receive You, as we turn our eyes away from the world. Empower us to make a vital and lasting connection with You, so that You will truly live within us. Make us willing, eager, and thirsty for You. We thank You and praise You for keeping Your Word. Now, Lord, teach us to keep Your Word, so that You can say to Your Father, \ldblquote They have kept Thy Word!\rdblquote Write it on our hearts, so that we may keep it for You. This is our earnest prayer. In Jesus\rquote name, Amen.\par \par Praise God, each one of you has declared that you want to draw closer to Jesus. You want to value God\rquote s Word more. You want to become a Wordkeeper. You\rquote re in good company!\par \par The Bible is full of Wordkeepers. Here are a few of them:\par \par Abraham was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Gen_26:5\cf1\ulnone ) \par Moses was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Deu_6:6\cf1\ulnone ) \par Joshua was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Jos_1:8\cf1\ulnone ) \par Job was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Job_23:12\cf1\ulnone ) \par David was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Psa_119:97\cf1\ulnone ) \par Jeremiah was a Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Jer_15:16\cf1\ulnone ) \par The disciples were Wordkeepers (\cf2\ul Joh_17:6\cf1\ulnone ) \par And of course, Jesus was the ultimate Wordkeeper (\cf2\ul Joh_15:10\cf1\ulnone )\par \par The above references reveal that these powerful men of God valued God\rquote s Word above all else. The Bible ev en mentions such important things as eating, sleeping, wealth, and reputation as of less importance than the pursuit of God\rquote s Word. The scriptures are declared to be more valuable than anything one\rquote s heart could possibly desire! That\rquote s how much God wants us to love His Word!\par \par Satan HATES the Word of God, because it scares him to death. (\cf2\ul Jas_2:19\cf1\ulnone ) He want you to find God\rquote s Word distasteful. (Matthew 13:19) He doesn\rquote t even care if you respect it, as long as you neglect it. So he is relentless in his pursuit to keep you from becoming a Wordkeeper. He knows the power of the Word, and how Wordkeeping releases us from his prison.\par \par Let\rquote s talk about our spiritual appetites. Do you experience a deep hunger for God\rquote s Word? In my own experience, I know there are certain things that \ldblquote spoil\rdblquote my spiritual appetite. For me, watching an entertaining movie is one of Satan\rquote s most effective ways of spoiling my spiritual appetite. I am choosing to avoid this type of entertainment. What about your spiritual appetite? You know what things make you hungry for God, and what things dampen that desire.\par \par Spiritual activities definitely increase spiritual appetite. The Word tastes better and better, the more you eat it. That is why, in this 21 Days to Spiritual Renewal, you are being encouraged to devote more time to spiritual pursuits. Surround yourself with a spiritual atmosphere as much as possible. Tak e every opportunity for spiritual fellowship that you can.\par \par These 21 days are kind of like taking a spiritual cleanse. Our minds need to be purged from the mental junk food we\rquote ve taken in. Spiritual renewal is achieved by revitalizing our spiritual appetites. \ldblquote Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness\'85\rdblquote \par \par So, for 21 Days, the Living Word is to become your focal point. Heighten your appetite for it. The Wordkeepers Bible Memory syste m, utilizing prompterizing, makes the process of meditating on the Word easy and convenient. This is only one of the many ways to be a Wordkeeper. \par \par During these 21 days, you will receive 10 scriptures per day, formatted for prompterizing so you can become familiar with this method. Take these scriptures into your mind and heart, meditate on them, prompterize them, keep them! Print out the 200 Favorite Texts so you can take them with you everywhere. \par \par Meditate on the scriptures when you wake up in the morning, during your morning devotions, while you exercise, while you eat, while you travel, during your break, your lunch hour, in the evening. In all your spare minutes, instead of picking up a magazine, or turning on the TV, or pursuing greedy or vain ventures, Wordkeep instead! Do it incessantly, habitually, urgently. Do it with a determined focus. Set goals, discipline yourself, push yourself. \par \par Since Wordkeeping is God\rquote s will for you, He will enable you and empower you to do it! Make sure you are connecting with the Holy Spirit as you Wordkeep, so He can take your efforts and make them spiritually effective. Rote memorizing is not the purpose of Wordkeeping. You are communing with God as He is communing with you.\par \par As I continue to do this, I am amazed at the deep things God reveals to me from just a simple little text. The Words of God draw praise and petitions from my heart as God speaks to me. What a thrill it is!\par \par As Wordkeeping becomes your passion, it will also become your delight. Your heart will be drawn toward it. You will enjoy it above every other pursuit. It will be your highest pleasure, and will swallow up all worldliness, covetousness, strife and discouragement. It will set your feet on high places, and will raise you up into the presence of God! What an awesome privilege. Your heart\rquote s desire will be God\rquote s heart\rquote s desire. And you will be brought into sweet harmony with other Wordkeepers, because you will become one through the living Word. That\rquote s Jesus\rquote deepest desire for us all!\par \par Here are your ten KJV texts for today: (NIV users - please refer to attachment sent earlier or retrieve at \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "http://www.wordkeeping.com/thankyou.htm"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 http://www.wordkeeping.com/thankyou.htm}}}\cf1\f0\fs23 )\par \par \cf2\ul Gen_1:1\cf1\ulnone\par ItbGcthate.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Gen_2:7\par \cf1\ulnone AtLGfmotdotg, abihntbol; ambals.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Gen_3:15\par \cf1\ulnone AIwpebtatw, abtsahs; isbth, atsbhh.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:1\par \cf1\ulnone AGsatw, s.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:2\par \cf1\ulnone IatLtG, whbtootloE, oothob.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:3\par \cf1\ulnone TshnogbM.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:4\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnmutagi, oaloattiiha, otiiteb, otiitwute:\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:5\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnbdttt, nst: fItLtGaajG, vtiotfutcuttafgotthm;\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:6\par \cf1\ulnone Asmutottlm, akmc.\par \par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:7\par \cf1\ulnone TsnttnotLtGiv; ftLwnhhgtthniv.\par \par \par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \par If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf1\f0\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f1\fs24\par \cf1\f0\fs23\par } \*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\cf1\lang1033\b\f0\fs36 WORDKEEPING & REVIVAL \par \b0\fs23 \par What do you picture your life would be like if you were totally \ldblquote on fire\rdblquote for God? Would you be happier, more fulfilled, more peaceful? Would you be experiencing victory over sin? Most likely you would! We\rquote ve all felt that nagging feeling that we\rquote re not ready to die, not ready to have our probationary time ended. That\rquote s a scary feeling. To be at peace with God, to know that you are right with Him, that is truly living! The freedom Jesus promises is the freedom from sin, and from being half God\rquote s and half the world\rquote s. \par \par To me, to be spiritually revived means that I am no longer praying lukewarm, halfhearted prayers. I am no longer having continual guilt over my constant failures. It means that I am not holding back in any area of my life, not making lame excuses for my rebellion. Being spiritually revived means being wholehearted for God. Deep down, every Christian must long for it.\par \par Praise God, it is possible! He promises us that we can be overcomers. He is eager to revive us. We truly can be lifted up into heavenly places spiritually, and enjoy a close, intimate, victorious relationship with Him.\par \par Here\rquote s where Wordkeeping comes in. Truly, Wordkeeping will bring a spiritual revival. The more we do it, the stronger our love for God becomes. Our admiration and awe of Him deepens, and our longing to be like Him intensifies.\par \par Wordkeeping involves a love for God\rquote s Word that welcomes the Word into our hearts, and gives the Holy Spirit permission to bring about the revival. The radical transformation will adjust our entire lifestyle, so that we will enjoy the delights of true spirituality.\par \par To be a lukewarm Christian is really the worst of both worlds. A lukewarm, halfhearted Christian has one foot in the world and the other in the church. The pull of the world is so strong that the desires of the flesh are indulged, and then the guilt sets in. \par \par The hypocrisy of pretending to be religious when you know your heart is not right with God is utter misery. You learn to play act, and perhaps you can fool most people. If you can achieve a lot of Bible knowledge, in your head and not in your heart, you can really look good. But deep down, you know you\rquote re a sham. Because you still love the world.\par \par Pretend Christians, without a joyful, vibrant experience, are really missing out. Many have not made an entire surrender to God, and are holding back, reserving the right to enjoy a few little \ldblquote harmless\rdblquote sins, perhaps. They are suffering from a double-minded condition. \par \par Let\rquote s confess our double mindedness right now. God has the cure. Why not go for the gold tried in the fire, the eye salve, so you can see spiritually, and the white raiment of Christ\rquote s righteousness that will cover you completely.\par \par Jesus is standing at the door of your heart, wanting to come in and dine with you. He has a delicious spiritual feast waiting. Are you ready to let Him in?\par \par My precious Heavenly Father, forgive me for my disgusting lukewarmness. It is so distasteful to You. I don\rquote t want to be spewed out of Your mouth. I want to be held close to Your heart, to be loved and cherished by You. I want to be done with all double mindedness now, Lord. Cleanse me, I pray. Come in and dine with me! In Jesus\rquote name, Amen.\par \par When Jesus comes in, what is the meal that He will share with us? His Word! That\rquote s the spiritual food He provides. He wants to Wordkeep with you, and bring you a great spiritual revival.\par \par Wordkeeping with Jesus is a most delightful experience. There is NOTHING in life that brings a deeper satisfaction, and a more lasting joy. It is better than finding massive hidden treasure. It is better than anything your heart can desire. It is tapping into the very wisdom of God. (See \cf2\ul Pro_3:13-15\cf1\ulnone )\par \par The decision to become wholehearted for God will not come without a struggle. Your enemy will do everything possible to keep you a halfhearted Christian. Halfhearted Christians are actually more valuable to him than totally worldly people, because they make a mockery of the power of God. So be prepared for a struggle, but with God\rquote s grace, you can choose to break out of the lukewarm condition into the marvelous joy of complete surrender.\par \par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:8\par \cf1\ulnone Rtsd, tkih.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:9\par \cf1\ulnone Sdstl, adatw:\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:10\par \cf1\ulnone BtsditsotLtG: iitsndaw, t, nts, ntd, tm, ntm, ntc, ntstiwtg:\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:11\par \cf1\ulnone FisdtLmhae, ts, aatiti, artsd: wtLbtsd, ahi.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:12\par \cf1\ulnone Htfatm: ttdmblutlwtLtGgt.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:13\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnk.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:14\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnca.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:15\par \cf1\ulnone Tsns.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:16\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnbfwatn.\par \par \cf2\ul Exo_20:17\par \cf1\ulnone Tsnctnh, tsnctnw, nhm, nhm, nho, nha, nattitn.\par \par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \par If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf1\f0\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\par } e Word of God, and endeavors to make Wordkeeping a part of his life, Satan\rquote s wrath gets stirred up. You must know that the battle between God and Satan within you may become so intense that you feel like you are being pulled apart. Which side will win out? The wise man builds on the rock, the foolish man builds on the sand. Where will you build?\par \par Beware of an important fact. Your feelings are the devil\rquote s playground. He will jerk around your feelings so much that you will think you don\rquote t really want revival. He\rquote ll trick you and trap you and torment you, because he knows how to play on your emotions. Our battle is not focused on feelings. We can safely ignore the feelings Satan stirs up, and listen to what God says, and believe it. \par \par Granted, good feelings are part of Revival, and they certainly will come, but we can\rquote t depend on our feelings to move us in that direction. We\rquote ve actually got to go against our feelings right at the first, because !surrender is painful. The suffering of putting self to death is what we all must experience before we are born again. This is a good kind of suffering, and it brings wonderful results. See \cf2\ul Php_3:10\par \cf1\ulnone \par In his effort to keep us from Wordkeeping, Satan fills us with excuses. Let\rquote s shoot them down right now, and get them out of the way. Here are the silly excuses Satan tells us:\par \par \b I\rquote m too busy. I don\rquote t have time to spend in the Word.\par \b0 \pa"r We all have time to do whatever we consider to be important. Every minute of life is given to us by God. And we think we don\rquote t have time for Him? Shame on us.\par \par \b It won\rquote t work for me. I\rquote ve tried, and I just can\rquote t get through to God.\par \b0 \par This is an absolute lie. God says it will work, and God doesn\rquote t lie, but Satan does. Wordkeeping can\rquote t help but work if we\rquote re willing to do it.\par \par \b I find the Bible boring and uninterest#ing.\par \b0 \par That\rquote s normal for the natural person. Through the Wordkeeping experience, God will change us into supernatural people, because He promises that we will become partakers of the divine nature. As we eat spiritual food, we will crave it. If we feed our mind with junk, it won\rquote t appreciate healthy spiritual food. Wordkeeping will solve that problem.\par \par \b I can\rquote t memorize scripture. My memory is terrible.\par \b0 \par Did you know that there is no better ac$tivity to strengthen the memory than to memorize scripture? If you have a terrible memory, that\rquote s all the more reason to Wordkeep!\par \par Hiding God\rquote s Word in our hearts, Wordkeeping, has been a vital pursuit of God\rquote s people throughout history. If the saints needed the experience in years gone by, how much more do we need it now! We are literally bombarded with the world, everywhere we turn. We need to saturate our minds with the Word.\par \par The patriarchs of old had the Wo%rd of God memorized. The apostles memorized every word of Jesus, as well as the Old Testament. The gospels were written years after Christ ascended, and they recalled the words from their memories. The reformers memorized large portions of the Bible, as did the Waldensees. Some of the Christian pioneers in the mid 1800\rquote s memorized the whole Bible. Even little children can memorize large portions of Scripture. How about you? How much of God\rquote s Word is hidden in your heart?\par \par The Bibl&e is our guide to a superior life, a life full of holiness and joy. It is filled with precious promises and tremendous treasure. These jewels are not lying on the surface, but hidden deep, to be discovered only by those willing to search diligently.\par \par May this song be our prayer:\par \par \i I\rquote m pressing on the upward way, New heights I\rquote m gaining every day; Still praying as I\rquote m onward bound,\par \ldblquote Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.\rdblquote\par Lord, lift me' up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven\rquote s table land, A higher plane than I have found;\par Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.\par I want to live above the world, Though Satan\rquote s darts at me are hurled; For faith has caught the joyful sound,\par The song of saints on higher ground.\par Father, help me to build on the solid Rock, Jesus Christ, on the Word of God, and not on the shifting sand of society. Perhaps it\rquote s a good time to ask God to give us a check-up from the neck-up, so we can receive an attitude adjustment. All of us struggle with pride and self-sufficiency in one form or another. Spiritual pride is directly opposed to spiritual renewal. \par \par Spiritual Wordkeeping can only be done by an individual who is eager to hear God\rquote s voice through the Word. It takes a humble heart, and a teachable spirit. All personal opinions must be set aside, and God\rquote- s opinion must be uplifted in high esteem. When we have a humble, teachable spirit, God rejoices, because He can come and dwell in us. The proud heart, the independent, self-sufficient person can never taste of the delights of Wordkeeping.\par \par Wordkeeping should never be undertaken without prayer. The cry of our hearts must be, \ldblquote Lord, teach me Your will. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I may comprehend what You are saying to me. Show me Your truth. Make my heart willing to receive it. .Empower me to follow what You reveal to me in Your Word. Mold me into Your image. Without You, I am nothing.\rdblquote\par \par Wordkeeping is in effect saying to God, "Take away my thoughts and feelings and replace them with Your thoughts and feelings." God says, "I will gladly do that for you, my child, as you expose your mind to My Word. There you will see My character as revealed in Jesus. As you gaze on Me through the Wordkeeping experience, you will become like Me."\par \par When our approach /to the Word of God is made with a reverent attitude, we are ready to receive the truth God has in store for us. Our hearts will stand in awe of God as He communes with us. Then we will treasure every Word of God. This is true Wordkeeping.\par \par The reason why so many don\rquote t appreciate the Bible is that they tread on holy ground in a careless, profane manner. They come to the Bible to prove their pet theories, or to place their selfish expectations on God. They demand that He fall in line with 0their perverse thinking. If something crosses their desires, they ignore it, or twist it to suit their interpretation. They may congratulate themselves that they are avid Bible students, and feel that they have a great knowledge of scriptural facts, but the Spirit is absent from their study.\par \par Reading the Bible with a careless attitude or opinionated view will not bring spiritual benefit to the reader. One verse or passage studied and meditated upon by the Wordkeeper (who is truly willing to kee1p the Word) yields more spiritual treasure than reading the entire Bible by a non-Wordkeeper.\par \par When we have a humble attitude of a learner, every phrase and verse in the scripture brings a message from God. Solemn joy will fill our hearts as we sense God\rquote s presence. The beauty of the scriptures unfolds more and more as the seeker probes deeper and deeper into the treasure house. Deep hidden meanings are unveiled with great rejoicing.\par \par The beauty of the Bible is that the more w2e Wordkeep, the more humble and teachable we become! The more we read of Jesus, and His selfless character, the more we admire Him. That admiration translates into imitation, because even subconsciously we imitate that with which we are familiar. The more familiar we become with someone, the greater his influence over us.\par \par What a marvelous plan God has for us! As we become familiar with the character of Jesus through Wordkeeping, then that character is developed in us.\par \par It takes conc3entration and deliberate focus to keep from being distracted because our enemy is constantly trying to draw our minds away from this sacred communion. But holy angels will be by our sides, shining divine light on the Word of God. \par \par We must exercise our mind to grasp these truths, or it will grow weak. We can\rquote t depend on someone else to spoon feed us, we must discover and eat the words of truth for ourselves. As we study with a prayerful, earnest heart, God will reveal gems of truth that4 will be ever so precious to us.\par \par We need to approach the Bible with the reverence and awe of a little child coming to a vastly superior Being. We must sense our inability to comprehend without the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. No greatness of intelligence can master the difficult passages of scripture.\par \par We need to have a prayerful dependence on God. Our humble hearts must be bowed down in submission and receptivity to what God wants to say to us, without argument of resistance o5n our part. Only those with a humble and teachable spirit will receive spiritual wisdom from the Word.\par \par Father, I come to you as a little child, seeking to be taught. Oh, how I need your Spirit. Please save me from my pride and know-it-all attitude. Help me to lay down all my opinions at your feet. I desire only Your truth. Prayer is opening up our hearts to God. It is opening up the avenue through which the Spirit can speak to us. True prayer is not a formal, set speech to God. It involves our willingness to lay all our thoughts, feelings and desires before God, so He can encourage and strengthen us. God is in the business of repairing the damage that the world has done to our thinking and feeling. He is gentle and kind, and as He frees us from faulty: thinking, we will rejoice!\par \par Prayer that comes from a selfish, proud heart is dry. It feels empty. The words may be flowery and impressive, but there is no connection made with God. There is no magic in saying certain words. What God longs for is a broken, contrite heart that is ready to receive Him.\par \par The Spirit of Christ is the Living Word. The Word is how He communicates with us. The Word reflects God\rquote s thoughts. By our invitation, His Spirit will reside in our hearts and ta;ke the Word and apply it to our hearts.\par \par What a privilege it is to truly connect with the One who understands us, accepts us and loves us beyond measure. He enjoys this communion with us, just as we learn to enjoy it greatly. This is not a one-way monolog, but two-way communication. We pour out our hearts to Him, and He pours out His heart to us. When we learn how God truly feels, our hearts are moved with love toward Him.\par \par Wordkeeping must begin with prayer, and prayer is woven throthe deepest level, and clean out all that is not in harmony with it, and to actually change your thinking and feeling processes to the point that your mind becomes entirely transformed. \par \par Faithful Wordkeeping keeps the living Word coming in. The transformation continues in a progressive way. We must be willing allow God\rquote s living Words to energize the deep areas of our being where motives reside and deep desires generate thoughts and feelings. If we will let the Word of God get to that le?vel, and keep it flowing in, God will do His part in changing us. Remember these tips:\par \par \i Start with prayer\i0 . As you pray, earnestly plead for the Holy Spirit to speak to you through these texts. (We say to earnestly plead in contrast to just lightly, carelessly asking , to make sure that your heart is prepared to receive what the Holy Spirit says. Make sure you want to hear Him! If your prayer is indifferent, and you don't really mean it, you won't hear the Holy Spirit speaking. Pour your w@hole heart into this, and the Spirit will speak! \par \par \i Approach the text with a reverent spirit\i0 , full of awe that God would condescend to speak to you. At the invitation of Jesus, you are sitting down to a scrumptious feast with Him! \par \par \i Anticipate the pleasure\i0 of the experience. Incline your heart toward God, eager to soak in His precious Words. \par \par \i Read the text slowly\i0 , thoughtfully, pausing frequently to ponder the wonder of the message. It will warm your hearAt, and invigorate your soul as you sense the hugeness of God's love and mercy towards you. You may want to read several verses at a time to develop a complete thought upon which to meditate. But don't rush past the special revelation of His love in the passage. \par \par \i Let the Holy Spirit speak. \i0 Anything God is asking you to do is for your own good. He's there to give you a deeper hunger for Him, so you can delight in Him. Deep convictions are valuable enhancements to your spiritual journey. DoBn't avoid them, treasure them! \par \par Once you possess the hidden treasure you've discovered in the passage, delight in it, and savor it! Don't you think it pleases Jesus when we enjoy the feast He has prepared for us! Absolutely it does. He's right there, rejoicing with us.\par \par The most profound theme of spiritual meditation is the cross of Christ. What Jesus did for us is so deep, so huge, that we can\rquote t exhaust it. The Word of God revolves around the cross. As we catch glimpses of HiCs love, our hearts cry out in wonder and amazement. \par \par If you want to revitalize your prayer life, ask God to show you His self-sacrificing love throughout the Word. The love He will reveal to you will make every prayer you pray alive with spiritual power. The more you invest in knowing Him, the more He will reveal Himself to you. You can have just as much of a spiritual revival as you want. It\rquote s available to all who are willing to drink of the water of life! Duties and responsibilities await us. But the beauty of Wordkeeping is that we can carry the Word with us in our hearts all day long. \par \~\par Wordkeeping requires time and effort, as all learning requires. It is more than education, it is enlightenment. It is more than enlightenment, it is relationship. It is even more than relationship, it is union with the Author of the Word, the Creator of our beings. It is the essence of the ultiHmate relationship experience available to humans, the uniting of the divine nature with the human.\par \~\par God wants to be personal and intimate with us, rescuing us from our destructive habits and redeeming us from our fate of ultimate self-destruction. Wordkeeping is finding and keeping Jesus. He is the living Word. His character is the character His Word will duplicate in us. Wordkeeping is loving God with all your heart, your soul, and your mind. It is entrusting all that you have, your life, youIr destiny to your loving Creator and Redeemer.\par \~\par Wordkeeping takes commitment, diligent effort and time. It is the continual, thrilling pursuit of God. It must become the life-long overriding passion of a true follower of Christ.\par \~\par God urges us to redeem the time, (\cf1\ul Eph_5:16\cf0\ulnone , \cf1\ul Col_4:5\cf0\ulnone ) which means to make wise and sacred use of the time we have remaining. Wordkeeping is the highest and best use of our time. Are you willing to make a lifetime commJitment to make Wordkeeping the top priority in your schedule?\par \~\par When you take a look at your life, and think of your accomplishments, and how you achieved them, you will realize that anything that is worth doing takes time and effort. Any accomplishment requires determination, and a fixed purpose. Goal setting is necessary for success. We must make a commitment, make the necessary sacrifices to enjoy the reward.\par \~\par The same is true of Wordkeeping. I know of no other pursuit that is moKre worthy of our time and effort. This is the highest and best use of our time, talents and energy. Are you willing to put forth the determination to succeed in your pursuit of God? Are you willing to stretch yourself, and persevere until you enjoy the sweet fruits of Wordkeeping?\par \~\par Wordkeeping must become a habitual activity. It\rquote s a spiritual exercise program. If you\rquote ve experienced the benefits of physical exercise, you know that to continue it, you must have a plan and a programL. Exercise is not automatic. You have to be deliberate about it. You may need to purchase equipment, or travel to a certain location. It takes effort. But the benefits are well worth it.\par \~\par The same with Wordkeeping. It won\rquote t happen automatically. You\rquote ve got to make a commitment, and follow through, daily.\par \~\par \cf2 Treat your brain well, feed it with nutritious food, don\rquote t feed it with junk and expect it to function well. If you have a difficult time thinking clearlMy, it could very well be your health habits need adjusting. Drinking stimulating drinks such as alcohol or coffee affects our ability to think clearly, as does tobacco or drugs. Junk foods, high fat and sugar are also hard on our bodies, making clear thinking difficult.\cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par \cf2 Our bodies need exercise and plenty of water to function well. And don\rquote t forget adequate rest, and fresh air in the sunshine. All of these good health habits will increase our ability to think well. TheNre is a connection between physical health and spiritual health, because our brain is a physical organ. So if you\rquote re having trouble concentrating, consider what could be causing the problem.\cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par Fasting is sometimes linked with prayer in the Bible. While there is no saving merit in fasting, there is a sense of clarity and focus that it provides. God wants our total attention. We need to be willing to remove whatever it is that is making it difficult to focus on God.\par \~\parO Fasting from the world for 21 days, is this difficult for you? Just think of those things that keep you from spiritual heights as weights that are dragging you down. Cut them off, so you can soar with Jesus!\par \~\par Our commitment to be wholehearted for Jesus is really the very best thing we can do for ourselves! It is the only way to achieve true happiness. Unlike the world\rquote s brand of meditation, which involves emptying out your mind, the true form of meditation requires active, focused concentration and contemplation. It is filling your mind with the wonderful thoughts of God, which bring us into connection with Him.\par \~\par How does this work? Let\rquote s give an example of the type of thoughts that may be generated through a Wordkeeping experience. After beginning withT a prayer for wisdom and spiritual understanding, a text is selected for study. For the example, we will pick a random passage, Philippians 2. Phrase by phrase, I read slowly, letting the message soak deep. From the very first phrase, God speaks to me. Yes, I have found so much comfort and fellowship in Jesus, my heart joyfully cries out to Him in gratitude. Praise wells up within me, and I\rquote m heart to heart with Jesus, in deep appreciation, as I read through verse 1. I pause to thank Him for His meUrcy and love toward me. I bask in His goodness. I sense His presence. We are communing together. \par \~\par On to verse 2, as I read, my heart responds. Yes, I want to have the same attitude which I so admire in Christ, I want to have His love for others, I want to be in unity with my brothers and sisters. The Holy Spirit is making me willing. Perhaps my mind goes to a difference I\rquote ve had with a fellow believer, and the power of this passage probes down to this flaw, and roots it out. The Word aVctually removes my unkind feelings, replacing them with love. My mind is agreeing with God\rquote s mind. I am accepting His truth in a personal way. \par \~\par On to verse 3. As I read and ponder, my ego and pride melt away. I am humbled by the Spirit through the Word. I don\rquote t just read the words, I allow the Holy Spirit to make them a reality in my thinking. This is a miraculous transformation that takes place. I am being cleansed by the Word. That\rquote s why Jesus said to His disciples, "NoWw you are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you." The willing disciples received His words, and the Words purged out the wrong thinking. This process we\rquote ve been describing is what we call Wordkeeping.\par \~\par Perhaps you\rquote d like to experiment with a passage right now, and prayerfully meditate on the words. Make sure you\rquote re not rushing through, and ending up with just good information, but with no spiritual food. Don\rquote t fall into that trap, because you\rquote llX soon lose interest, and look upon it as a duty rather than a delight.\par \~\par As I read, I make certain that I understand every word. I use the concordance when necessary. The passage of scripture I select becomes my own. I value it so highly, I want to permanently implant it into my heart. I want to live this passage. So I take the time and effort to prompterize it. I take the first initial of every word as a prompter, and within a few minutes, I can repeat the text by looking at just the promptersY. This makes the text delightfully familiar to me. Every word is accounted for, and nothing slips through the cracks! My heart responds willingly and joyfully. \par \~\par \cf1 Wordkeeping involves digging in the mine of truth until we find rich treasures. But if, after we find them, we don\rquote t apply them to our lives, it is worse than wasted effort. For then we become forgetful hearers and not doers of the Word. If God\rquote s Word condemns a bad habit, or an unloving feeling, or some cherished sZin, we must let it do its cleansing work and cut it out of our lives. That\rquote s the end result of faithful Wordkeeping \endash transformation of character.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par What we need is to fortify our mind with God\rquote s Word, to build it up, strengthen it, empower it with divine power, so that when temptation comes, it doesn\rquote t stand a chance. By internalizing the Word of God through prayerful meditation and application, we disarm the enemy. We take away his weapons!\par \~\par [ Keeping God\rquote s Word with you all day long chases away many unchristlike thoughts and attitudes that would normally spring up. Satan doesn\rquote t have a chance when the Word is in us! That\rquote s the position we want to be in.\par \~\par Thank you, Lord, for your powerful Word!\par \~\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Psa_139:24\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Asitbawwim, almitwe.\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Psa_147:3\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Hhtbih, abutw.\par \b\fs20\par \ \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_3:5\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 TitLwath, alnutou. \b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_3:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Iatwah, ahsdtp.\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_3:7\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Bnwitoe: ftL, adfe.\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_3:11\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Ms, dntcotL; nbwohc.\par \b\fs20\par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_4:18\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Btpotjiatsl, tsmamutpd.\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_6:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Gtta, ts; chw, abw:\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_12:22\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 LlaattL: bttdtahd.\b\fs20\par \par \cf2\ul\b0 Pro_14:12\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Tiawwsruam, btetatwod.\par \~\par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \~\cf1\f1\fs23 If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf1\f1\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f0\fs24\par \pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\f2\fs22\par \pard\cf1\kerning36\f1\fs23\par } 9%]Day 07{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f2\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Calibri;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING \endash HOW TO\par \paR_ator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING AND PREPARATION FOR THE END TIMES\par \pard\kerning0\b0\fs24\~\par If you have access to the news, and are aware of developments in our world, then certainly you must agree that there is ample evidence that the end of the world is approaching rapidly. Jesus told us to watch for the signs, as given in Matthew 24, and many other places, and these signs are increasing in intensity, just like the labor pains` of a soon-to-be mother.\par \~\par So what does the Bible urge us to do in light of the times in which we live? \cf1\ul 2Pe_3:10-18\cf0\ulnone gives excellent counsel which is summed up with the admonition to \ldblquote Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.\rdblquote How do we grow in grace and knowledge other than by increasing our exposure to the Word?\par \~\par \cf2 Satan is busy setting a trap for each one of us. He wants to catch us off guard. He wants to deaceive us. How can we prepare ourselves so as not to be caught in his snare?\cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par Many know they need more time with God in prayer and study, but life seems to get more hectic as time goes on. If we wait until we have more time, that time will never come. Satan is making sure we are busy, busy, busy, and the pressures of life increase daily. \par \~\par If we continue on in our lukewarm, sleepy, distracted state, we will miss out. Jesus admonishes, in \cf1\ul Luk_21:34-36\cf0\ulnone :b \ldblquote And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.\rdblquote\par \~\par In \cf1\ul Eph_5:14-27\cf0\ulnone , we are being startled to Wacke up! Redeem the time! Let Jesus wash you with the Word! God is doing everything He can to get our attention so that we will get into the Word, so He can prepare us for the end times. \cf2 Satan can quote scripture, false prophets can misquote scripture, so we must make sure we are familiar with the Word. We must know what it really says.\cf0\par \~\par God is, as it were, blowing a trumpet into our sleepy ears. He is pleading with each one of us, Get ready, get ready, get ready, I am coming soon!\par d \~\par Getting ready means that we need to have the Word of God, which is His living seed, abiding and remaining in us, so that we will not sin. (See \cf1\ul 1Jn_3:9\cf0\ulnone .) So again, it all boils down to our desperate and urgent need to get into the Word of God, so it can get into us. In short, we must be Wordkeeping more and more and more! We will soon run out of time.\par \~\par In our quick and easy society, we expect instant results. God requires perseverance, not just an instant fix. We neeed to build up our spiritual muscles by diligent exercise. We can\rquote t let someone else do it for us. We can\rquote t depend on our pastor or priest to get all the good stuff out of the Word, and then feed it to us. That would just make us spiritual invalids. We\rquote ve got to dig it out ourselves!\par \~\par Jesus commands us to WATCH! Over and over again He repeats it. He isn\rquote t talking about watching the news here. He\rquote s commanding us to give strict, focused attention to our spiritufal condition, and to fortify our minds by immersing them in the Word. \par \~\par How can you WATCH all day long, with your spiritual eyes wide open? The only way I know is to have your mind on the Word of God. Every decision, every plan, every proposal needs to be weighed by the Word. You can\rquote t do that unless the Word is internalized. You need these scriptures to be running through your mind all day long. That\rquote s why becoming familiar with the Word, through prompterizing, memorizing, or whgatever method you choose, is an absolute necessity for the watchful Christian. Otherwise, Satan will catch us in his trap.\par \~\par Lord, please help us to wake up, and to diligently watch in Your Word, so that we may be prepared for the snares that Satan is secretly setting for us!\par \~\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Pro_15:1\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Asataw: bgwsua.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Pro_17:22\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Amhdglam: babsdtb.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Pro_h22:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Tuacitwhsg: awhio, hwndfi.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Pro_29:18\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Wtinv, tpp: bhtktl, hih.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Ecc_7:9\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Bnhitstba: faritbof.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Ecc_12:13\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Luhtcotwm: FG, akhc: ftitwdom.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Ecc_12:14\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 FGsbewij, west, wibg, owibe.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Isa_1:18\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Cn, alurt, stL: tysbas, tsbawas; ttbrlc, tsbaw.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Isa_8:20\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Ttlattt: itsnattw, iibtinlit.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Isa_9:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Fuuacib, uuasig: atgsbuhs: ahnsbcW, C, TmG, TeF, TPoP.\par \~\par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \par \cf2\f1\fs23 If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf2\f1\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f0\fs24\par \cf2\kerning36\f1\fs23\par } @X@e %5Day 09{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\saju%UDay 08{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\gener^k100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING AND THE END TIMES\par \pard\kerning0\b0\fs24 The end times will be different in several ways than life as usual. There will be increased trials and persecution, which is God\rquote s way of purifying the world out of His children. And there will be increased error and deadly deception. Every one of these situations calls for a stronger faith, a deeper colmmitment and a better knowledge of God\rquote s Word. \par \~\par As the fiery trials and persecutions increase, how will you fare? We won\rquote t need to memorize speeches to present to our persecutors, but we will need to have memorized scripture. \ldblquote But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.\rdblquote \cf2\ul Mat_10:19\cf0\ulnoone Those who have the Word abiding in their hearts will receive help from God to put it all together to testify for Him.\par \~\par \cf1 Don\rquote t neglect the Word, but take every opportunity to acquaint yourself with it. Again, our part is to expose our minds to the Word, so that we can receive the Seal of God.\cf0\par \~\par Jesus, in His prayer to His Father said regarding His disciples, \ldblquote They have kept thy word. Wouldn\rquote t you like to have Jesus say that about you? What does Jesus say to the Father about your attitude to His Word? \par \~\par In the end times, everyone will be tested. We are to prepare qfor the huge final test. How does one prepare for any test? Study! The signs are shouting, It\rquote s time to CRAM! We must spiritually be \ldblquote burning the midnight oil.\rdblquote So the Lord doesn\rquote t come and find us sleeping.\par \~\par The test is the entrance exam for what? Heaven! An eternity of blessing and bliss with our Savior. We can\rquote t afford to miss out!\par \~\par In a few days we will be discussing what WORKS are, as you might have a question about legalism. Every day it is our privilege to be gaining fresh victories over our sinful habits. But for many Christians, defeat is ever present. They struggle and fail, and are filled with guilt and despair. What is the key to victory?\par \pard\cf1\ul 1Jn_5:4\cf0\ulnone tells us, \ldblquote For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.\rdblquote True faith,w then, is the key. But how do we get this faith? In \cf1\ul Rom_10:17\cf0\ulnone we learn, \ldblquote So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.\rdblquote\par \~\par Faith comes to us as we hear God\rquote s Word. That\rquote s pretty simple. How sad it is that many haven\rquote t put that simple equation to work in their Christian experience.\par \~\par Perhaps the importance of Bible study has not been emphasized. Perhaps we don\rquote t know how to take the Words from the pagxes of scriptures, and apply them to our lives in such a way that glorious victory is the result. That is the reason for these 21 days to Spiritual Renewal. If we are faithful in our Wordkeeping, victory will be the result.\par \~\par Let\rquote s look at some powerful verses right now:\par \~\par \ldblquote For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thyoughts and intents of the heart.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Heb_4:12\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par From this we learn that God\rquote s Word is an extremely powerful tool, affecting us personally in an incredible way. If you were stabbed deeply by a literal sword, it would kill you, would it not? The Word of God is powerful enough to kill that part of you that sins, your selfish, rebellious nature. \par \~\par When we expose ourselves to the Living Word of God, it goes deep, deep into our soul, way down to our motivezs, that we may not even know about. What makes us do the evil things we do? The Word of God will expose that to us, if we\rquote re willing. It will cut them out, performing spiritual surgery with a powerful, living sword! That\rquote s what God\rquote s Word will do for us.\par \~\par Surgery is painful, and leaves wounds. But there is healing that takes place. God\rquote s Word also brings wonderful comfort and healing, so that you are stronger and way better off for having undergone the surgery. When{ the cancer of sin is cut out, our minds are set free to think holy thoughts.\par \~\par The power of the Word is real. When it is combined with faith, which includes your belief in God\rquote s ability to make you victorious, victory is absolutely certain. As you read this, is your faith in agreement? Do you really believe that God will do what He says? Pray earnestly that God will revitalize your faith in His power.\par \~\par Like a drowning person grabbing hold of a lifeline, so must we be in grab|bing hold of God\rquote s promises. If we latch on to them, we\rquote re safe from the evil one. He cannot get us, and drown us in our sins. Jesus lifts us up into His arms, and no one can snatch us out, if we are willing to stay there. \par \~\par Staying in Jesus\rquote protecting care can only be done through faithful Wordkeeping. That is how you increase your faith, that is how you claim the promises. That is how you even desire to have victory over sin.\par \~\par Here\rquote s another powerful }verse:\par \~\par \ldblquote Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.\rdblquote \cf1\ul 2Pe_1:4\cf0\ulnone\par \f1\~\f0\par God has graciously given us incredibly precious promises of victory. Do you have them hidden in your heart? Do you carry them with you wherever you go? Those promises are you ticket to victory. How badly do you want victory over sin? ~It\rquote s within your grasp. Your part is to grasp hold of the promises.\par \~\par Let\rquote s talk a little bit about how God gives us this miraculous victory. The reason we sin is because we believe Satan\rquote s lies. We get angry because we believe we have a right to be angry. We lust because we believe that indulgence will make us happy. We are greedy because we believe that selfishness is to be preferred over unselfishness. All of these are lies of the devil, which we buy into.\par \~\par If we thought the way Jesus thought when He was here on earth, we wouldn\rquote t sin. How do we get our minds changed into the way Jesus thought? It is the Word that changes our thinking. The Bible is the most pure source of God\rquote s thoughts that we have. How diligent, then, should we been in getting the Word into our minds. How eager we should be to learn God\rquote s thoughts, so we can be rid of Satan\rquote s lies!\par \~\par If you have a problem with your temper, do you excuse it, and tolerate your frequent flare-ups? Or are you determined to avail yourself of God\rquote s remedy to get rid of it?\par \~\par If you will take the time to prayerfully meditate on the following texts, your anger will be cut out by the powerful sword of the Spirit, and instead, God will miraculously place love, patience, and kindness in its place. This is how we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Listen to what God thinks:\par \~\par \ldblquote Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Ecc_7:9\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par \ldblquote Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Eph_4:31-32\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par \ldblquote But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Col_3:8\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par \ldblquote For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Jas_1:20\cf0\ulnone\par \f1\~\f0\par There is enough power in these and many other scriptures to keep you from losing your temper. Victory is available! But you must want it, and you must grab hold of the promises. In faith,\cf2 we must daily grasp the promises without a doubt.\cf0\par \~\par Praise God for victory over sin. And, praise Him for His forgiveness as we are learning these lessons. If we fail, we are not to get discouraged, but to grab onto the promise in \cf1\ul 1Jn_1:9\cf0\ulnone , \ldblquote If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.\rdblquote\par \~\par What God asks of us He empowers us to do. His Word is effective, and it will accomplish what it was designed for. (See \cf1\ul Isa_55:11\cf0\ulnone ) When we experience the benefits of the Word, we will love it more and more.\par \cf2\~\cf0\par \cf2 The Scriptures are like a wall of protection against temptation, a divine fortress, our powerful shield. (See \cf1\ul Rom_12:3\cf0\ulnone ) It is through this gift that He is able to save us. (See \cf1\ul Eph_2:8\cf0\ulnone ) Grace is God\rquote s goodness, mercy and power toward us, and faith is our response. \par \~\par We all have the capacity to believe, but all do not choose to exercise it. Many choose doubt and unbelief instead. God has given us the ability to choose, and our little choices day by day add up to one big, final choice. Will we choose God or Satan?\par \~\par Faith is fragile, and we can strengthen it, or we can squelch it, depending on our choices. The biggest choice regarding faith is, What will we do with the Word of God? \ldblquote So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Rom_10:17\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par It stands to reason that the more we \ldblquote hear\rdblquote the Word of God, the stronger our faith will become. This hearing must be done with our spiritual ears, so that the Word becomes part of us.\par \~\par We exercise our faith by believing that God\rquote s saving power will be activated in our lives. It is the essence of Righteousness by Faith \endash we become righteous by trusting in God\rquote s Word to do as He says regarding us. Christ\rquote s character becomes ours as we faithfully apply His Word to our hearts. Faith is simply trusting in God\rquote s Word, believing that He loves us and is working for our best good.\par \~\par The thought may have come to you, is Wordkeeping Works? I mean, is Wordkeeping legalism? Is it trying to earn salvation by doing good things?\par \~\par True Wordkeeping can never be legalism, because Wordkeeping as we have defined it is a deeply spiritual experience, entered into only by a born again Christian. Rote Bible Memory could be a form of legalism. If you feel that you are earning favor with God because you have memorized many Bible texts, you are definitely on the wrong track! If you are puffed up with pride because of your Bible memory work, you are involved is the Works of the Flesh! Satan would love for you to become proud of your \ldblquote spiritual\rdblquote attainments. \par \~\par Do you know that even pastors and evangelists are often tempted with pride when they preach a great sermon or pray a powerful prayer? Satan is right there trying to get us to congratulate ourselves when all the glory belongs to God. Memorizing scripture is nothing to be proud about. The more you truly Wordkeep, the more humble you will become! As you memorize, ask God to purify your motives by the very Words that you are memorizing.\par \~\par Salvation is a transaction \endash trading our sinful lives for Christ\rquote s holy life. If we want Christ\rquote s character to stand in the place of ours, so that the Father sees Him instead of us, we must come to appreciate His character. This is what happens to us as we take in His Word. Then we will confess that His way is the right way, and accept His power to change us. \par \~\par When God says, \ldblquote Thou shalt not steal,\rdblquote within that command is a promise. The promise is, If you are willing, I, the Lord God, am willing to change your heart so that you will not want to steal. When He says, \ldblquote Love your enemies,\rdblquote He is saying, If you are willing, I am willing to put love in your heart for your enemies. What He commands in His Word, it is our privilege to receive His strength to perform. It is His creative power at work, creating righteousness in our hearts. What a wonderful miracle!\par \~\par \cf2 We must rest our faith on the Word of God. It\rquote s not based on feelings, or whims, or our opinions. It is the eternal, immutable, indestructible Word of God \endash filled with creative power. Certainly, God\rquote s Word is worthy of our faith.\cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_1:21\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Assbfas, atschnJ: fhsshpfts.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:3\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batpis: ftitkoh.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:4\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Battm: ftsbc.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:5\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batm: ftsite.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batwdhatar: ftsbf.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:7\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batm: ftsom. \par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:8\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batpih: ftssG. \par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:9\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batp: ftsbctcoG.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:10\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Batwapfrs: ftitkoh.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:11\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Bay, wmsry, apy, assamoeayf, fms.\par \~\par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \~\par \pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\cf2\f1\fs23 If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf2\f1\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f2\fs22\par \pard\cf2\kerning36\f1\fs23\par } 1 %MDay 11{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f2\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Calibri;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING & FAITH\par \pard\kerning0\b0\fs24\~\par \~ \par Faith is our spiritual hand that reaches for God\rquote s Grace, His saving power. The abilitygh faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast..\rdblquote \cf1\ul Eph_2:8-9\cf0\ulnone . This passage is sometimes quoted with the intent to prove that Christians don\rquote t need to worry about works at all. Since we are not saved by works, does it follow that works are insignificant? Look at the next verse: \ldblquote For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Eph_2:10\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par God wants us to walk in good works. Why then the confusion about works? Part of the confusion may come because the Word of God refers to three types of works: 1.) the works of the law, 2.) the works of darkness or the works of the flesh, and 3.) good works. What are the differences between these types of works?\par \~\par The works of the law refers to the carrying out of religious rituals, which were actually required by God, but doing them with the motive to earn favor with God. We cannot earn favor with God by anything we do. No one is saved by doing good things. Trusting in your goodness is legalism. Legalism means depending on one\rquote s law keeping or works to merit salvation, which is an impossibility. We are all law breakers, so we\rquote ve already struck out. A broken law cannot save us. We are without hope unless God intervenes. We must trust in the saving grace of God alone for salvation.\par \~\par The works of the flesh are the evil deeds we all have done \endash sins. We have all done works of the flesh, for all have sinned. We are to turn from these evil works! \ldblquote They which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Gal_5:21\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par But are all works bad? Of course not! Good works are not bad! The Bible admonishes us to be faithful in doing good works thirteen specific times by actually using the term \ldblquote good works.\rdblquote Many other admonitions refer to the obedience and service God requires of us. \par \~\par So then, is faithful Wordkeeping works? Why, yes, it is part of the \ldblquote good works\rdblquote the God wants us to do. Consider this text carefully: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all \ul\b good works\ulnone\b0 .\rdblquote \cf1\ul 2Ti_3:16-17\cf0\ulnone (emphasis supplied)\par \~\par The scriptures and good works go hand in hand. Faithful Wordkeeping will keep us from the errors of the works of the flesh and the works of the law (doing good things to earn God\rquote s favor). Good works NEVER earn us any credit with God. Let\rquote s make sure we understand that. Memorizing lots and lots of scriptures, and studying the Bible continually do not make us one speck more worthy of being saved. Our motive for Wordkeeping must never be to make ourselves more worthy to God. We don\rquote t deserve His love, and we never will.\par \~\par But that doesn\rquote t mean God doesn\rquote t WANT us to do good works. Good works provide the evidence that we have trusted in Him for salvation, and invited His Holy Spirit to take control. When we turn from our rebellion, our legalism, and our works of the flesh, we will pursue good works out of deep love and appreciation for God\rquote s mercy towards us. \par \~\par Good works are any actions that will glorify God. Bad people cannot do good works, because their motives are not pure. God is glorified by the lives of holy people. He is glorified when we obey His Word. Wordkeeping guides us to a holier life. Wordkeeping takes the living Word, applying it to our hearts, so that we desire to obey God. Obedience is surrender to God\rquote s will. God\rquote s will is in His Word. So good works are the result of Wordkeeping.\par \~\par \ldblquote This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Tit_3:8\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. \cf1\ul 2Ti_2:15\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:12\cf0\ulnone\b\par \b0\fs24 R, abeg: fgiyrih: fspttpwwby.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_5:48\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Bytp, eayFwiihip.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_6:9\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Atmtpy: OFwaih, Hbtn.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_6:10\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Tkc, Twbdie, aiiih.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_6:11\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Gutdodb.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_6:12\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Afuod, awfod.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Mat_6:13\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Alunit, bdufe: Ftitk, atp, atg, fe. God calls us away from our natural human selfishness to a higher standard of love. All of God\rquote s requirements for man can be summed up in two great commandments:\par \~\par \ldblquote Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Luk_10:27\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par As we allow the Word to come into our hearts, we are filled with God\rquote s love as it purges out all our selfishness. That is how we come into harmony with these two great commandments. \par \~\par Loving God and others is not something we can begin to do apart from the Word. The Word has power to create the loving response in our hearts. When we struggle with interpersonal relationships, and are tempted to have ill will towards others, we need to Wordkeep. \cf2 God wants our undivided affection, so He can fill us with His love.\cf0\par \~\par It is impossible to saturate your mind with God\rquote s love, as He reveals it in His Word, and retain our unloving ways. They will simply melt away as the cleansing Word flows through us.\par \~\par Jesus tells us to love our enemies, and to pray for those that despitefully use and persecute us. Can you muster up good feelings just by sheer determination? No way. But if we spend time letting God\rquote s Words about love penetrate our minds, meditating on the incredible love of Jesus for us, His love will spring forth from our hearts. It works every time, because God\rquote s Word cannot fail.\par \~\par When we face problems in the church, and there is strife and dissension, it is evident that some of the members must not be Wordkeeping. For Wordkeeping fosters love and unity in the church. Jesus poured out His heart to His Father in John 17, and the cry of His heart was that His people experience the love and unity that He and His Father experience. He\rquote s willing to give it to us, be we must want it so much, that we Wordkeep until it\rquote s ours.\par \~\par Unity is the result of coming close to Jesus. When we are united to Him, we will be in unity with all those who are also united with Him. There are those in the church who choose not to accept His unifying love, but through His strength we can be kind and loving no matter what they do.\par \~\par Think back to your last harsh, unkind encounter with someone. Were the Words of Scripture running through you mind as you spoke? If they were, could you have made that unkind statement? As you think of someone who has wronged you, does the scripture about loving your enemies pop into your mind? God is willing to do that for you. But we must do our part, which is faithful Wordkeeping, every day. \par \~\par God\rquote s love is the most powerful force in the universe. When we are immersed in His love, we are protected from the evilness of our natures. Turning the other cheek is a divine miracle. Forgiving our enemies takes God\rquote s power. And we can have free access to that power in His Word. \par \~\par Do you have relationship problems? In your home, at work, in the church? Dear friend, Wordkeep with all your heart! It will solve any relationship problem in your own heart. You can be at peace, and live in harmony, as much as possible, even if someone else chooses to be unkind. \par \~\par Jesus showed us how. He was abused and mistreated, but He always responded with kindness and forgiveness. His Word, applied to our hearts, will give us that same ability as we trust in Him.\par \~\par What a precious gift God has given us in His Word. If God declares it, it exists. Whatever God commands us to do, He empowers us to do.\par \~\par The promise, \ldblquote Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God\rdblquote is a promise we can personally and individually claim. As we meditate upon these Words, they soak down deep into our hearts, and purge out all impurity. \par \~\par How do you chase out the bad thoughts? If we struggle with lustful, impure habits, we must saturate our minds with God\rquote s promises of purity. That is where the power is, not in independent efforts to be moral. Moral power is supernatural, and a carnal person cannot be pure from the inside out. They may look and act pure on the outside, but their thoughts cannot be controlled by their carnal mind.\par \~\par In our society, morality is extremely rare. That\rquote s because Wordkeeping is extremely rare. Wordkeeping is the only way to become pure. Cling to God\rquote s promises as if your life depended on them! Consider them of higher value than anything you possess. If you long for a pure heart, and plead with God while claiming His promises, you will have a pure heart! And someday, you will see God! Dwell on that and sense the sheer delight of your glorious future!\par \~\par The advertisements, the entertainment, the music, the attire, the language, gestures are all designed by the enemy to direct our minds into impure channels. We must guard our eyes and ears from the input of the world, which is full of sensuality. The freedom that God\rquote s indwelling Holy Spirit brings to us breaks the bonds of lustful habits. To have a clean conscience, and to be able to stand up under the scrutiny of the probing light that discloses any darkness is of inestimable value. If you can get your mind around the preciousness of that, you won\rquote t want to do anything to jeopardize your purity. It will be easy to say NO to society\rquote s smut.\par \~\par Being pure in heart expands to many aspects of our lives. Pure women dress modestly. Pure men make wise choices about what they behold. Purity directs our eyes to the pure and lovely, and keeps them away from impure suggestions and content. The mind must be fed with pure food if the heart is to be kept pure.\par \~\par Let me put it bluntly. How can a man or woman who honestly plans to see God someday choose to indulge in entertainment that encourages impurity? If the actors in a movie are portraying immoral behavior, will this not counteract the power of the Word to purify the viewer? So, can that viewer genuinely and sincerely Wordkeep, (remember the definition of Wordkeeping) and then intentionally sabotage their Wordkeeping? What do you think? How can we pervert our moral taste buds and then wonder why the Word is tasteless?\par \~\par Would you argue with these statements: Worldly entertainment, filled with immorality, disqualifies the mind for pure thinking. It dampens our desire for spiritual nourishment. It makes a mockery of Wordkeeping. \par \~\par Yet, worldly entertainment is an acceptable practice for most who call themselves Christians. This being the case, is it any wonder that our churches are lukewarm and in need of an awakening?\par \~\par Are we aware of our invisible companions at all times? Holy angels delight in surrounding those whose heart is feasting on the Word. Evil angels delight in surrounding those who are feasting on the world. Let your Wordkeeping form a weapon to keep the evil angels away from you. Don\rquote t neglect Wordkeeping on any account, especially not to spend time pumping immoral garbage into your mind. \par \~\par Watch and pray always, beware of Satan\rquote s snares and keep the application of the Word activated at all times. The atmosphere of the home sets the tone. If we have control over the TV, we should strive to keep its influence to a bare minimum. That means that we won\rquote t have it blaring for hours at a time. Instead, how about some uplifting music. There are many CDs available that have the words of Scripture set to music. How marvelous it would be to learn these songs, and imprint Scriptures in your mind.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 God has entrusted parents with the responsibility for teaching the Word to their children. \cf2\ul Deu_6:6-7\cf1\ulnone says, \ldblquote And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.\rdblquote In other words, teach them to Wordkeep all day long! \cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 How do we do that? First, by our own example. And secondly, by Wordkeeping with them. In the morning and evening, special times should be set aside to gather the family together to study and memorize God\rquote s Word. Children\rquote s memories are at their prime, so why not fill them with the most valuable treasures available on earth. They will either be memorizing the sayings of their cartoon characters, or the Words of Scripture, whatever is placed before them.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Every week God\rquote s children come together to worship Him. The Word should always be central in our worship services. Bible studies, where all have an opportunity to participate, encourage and strengthen all of us. We should seek out opportunities to study the Word of God and pray with other Christians on a regular basis.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 If you are filling your time with the Word, you will find there are things you used to do that you simply don\rquote t have time for any more. How about some of these: gossiping, indulging in silly activities, foolish joking and story telling, partying, carousing, flirting, worldly entertainment, viewing sports, video games, and many other things that consume hours of valuable time. Much of this time is worse than wasted. It actually kills our desire for God and His Word.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 What a light a Wordkeeping family will be to their neighborhood, and to their community. When God lights up your life, others will see it. Your conversation will be uplifting and inspiring. Profane language will disappear. Your temperament will be sweeter. Your integrity and work ethic will improve. And the children of such a family will grow up to truly love the Lord with all their hearts, and dedicate their lives in service to Him. What a wonderful heritage God has given us to pass on to our children!\cf0\par \par \cf1 Besides our morning quiet time, where we dedicate our lives to God for that day, we can find special moments here and there to delight in His Word. Improve every opportunity to memorize. Repeat scripture as you work, walk, relax, go to sleep.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Every morning when you wake up, remind yourself of your commitment to be a Wordkeeper. Let your first thoughts be thoughts of God. Spend time eating spiritual food before you eat your physical food. As you take your shower, wash your mind with the Word. As you exercise your body, exercise your mind by reviewing scripture. As you travel, be sure you are traveling on the narrow path with Jesus. Many times during the day, redeem the time, gather up the spare minutes, and recite scripture. If you choose to do this, you will be amazed at home much time you have to meditate on the Word. \cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 It is absolutely thrilling to wake up in the night, and realize that your mind is reciting the scriptures in your sleep. I\rquote ve had that happen to me numerous times. What a shield the scriptures are from idle, evil thoughts. It contains God\rquote s message of hope for mankind. The Bible is more than just a book, it is ALIVE with spiritual power. God\rquote s creative power is embedded in His Word. When God speaks, things happen. God\rquote s Word is God\rquote s voice speaking to our hearts.\par \~\par Jesus Christ represents the Father to us. He is the Word made flesh. The Bible reveals the marvelous love and compassion of God for humanity in giving His Son to us. And Jesus, because of His intense love for us, sent the Holy Spirit to represent Him after He ascended to heaven. The Holy Spirit brings the Truth about God, as revealed by Jesus, to our hearts through the Word of God. So the Word is truly the revelation of God\rquote s love.\par \~\par God\rquote s love is the most POWERFUL force in the universe. His love will conquer all. He wants us to experience His love. This love will lead us to rejoice in His Word, and delight in it, truly appreciating His character.\par \~\par Experiencing the POWER of the Word is what Wordkeeping is all about. Wordkeeping fans our faith, and fires up our fervor. Doubt and Wordkeeping cannot exist in the same heart, because Wordkeeping expels doubts. The more I Wordkeep, the stronger my faith becomes, the more deeply I believe that God is loving and kind, and that His Word is good and true, holy and right!\par \~\par Wordkeeping is basking in the Word, saturating the mind with the Word, immersing the soul with the Word. We dare not argue with the Word, because it is immutable, and it stands forever. Over 10 times in the scriptures we are reminded that we, as humans, will pass away, but God\rquote s Word abideth forever. \par \~\par What will God\rquote s Word do for us?\par The Word of God is quick and powerful\'85 God\rquote s Word goes right to my faulty thinking and changes it into right thinking. It goes to my pride and humbles me in the dust. It pinpoints my complaining spirit, with my lame excuses, and fills me with reverent praise. It shatters my self-sufficiency, and causes me to cling to Christ in utter dependence. It subdues my rebellion and gives me a willingness to obey. It is power-packed with God\rquote s perfect will, to cure every sinful tendency that we may have.\par \~\par Father, how very much I need Your Word, urgently, desperately, to fill me, soaking down to the depths of my being. Don\rquote t let me delay, don\rquote t let me hesitate, don\rquote t let me make excuses for the neglect of Your Word! Pour it into me, as much as I can handle. \par \~\par Let Your Word expand and grow as I take it in. Let it take root and flourish. Let each precious Word be a spiritual delicacy, making my heart sing and rejoice. Let praises burst from my grateful heart spontaneously. May others be blessed and nourished as Your Word flows out of the garden of my heart, like a well of water, refreshing their hearts. \par \~\par Don\rquote t let me wallow in the world any more, when your Word will lift me up into the high places, into Your presence, where I can sing with unspeakable joy. Let not worldly treasure attract me, when I can revel in Your heavenly treasure.\par \~\par Let Your Spirit stir up all my sleepy spiritual faculties, making me vibrant with your victorious valor, so that, as a valiant warrior, self can be completely conquered! No more lukewarm complacency for me, no more selfish indulgence, no more whimpering, murmuring, weak-kneed sissy stuff for me. Make me strong in Your Word! Oh, Lord, you know my every thought. How much is your mind worth to you? Without it, you have nothing. As the ad goes, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.\par \~\par The battle going on for our minds is incessant. God created us, and He desires and deserves to be given full rights to our minds. But the enemy of our souls is relentless in his pursuit of our minds. Each and every mind that is given to Satan is a slap in God\rquote s face, and a stab in His heart, which, tragically, is Satan\rquote s highest delight.\par \~\par Satan delights in placing minds under bondage, through evil habits and addictions of every sort. He drills his principles into our minds through the secular media, and through false religion. Addictions are the result of memorizing Satan\rquote s lies. Somehow he traps us into believing his lies so strongly that we act them out again and again.\par \~\par God has given us the ability to reason, and to choose. Even the demoniac, fully possessed by demons, still had the power of choice available to him. We can choose God, no matter how far we\rquote ve fallen.\par \~\par How do we take our minds from Satan\rquote s bondage and give them to God? God\rquote s miracle-working power is what we need. What does He need from us? Just a simple choice. Just like the lame man by the pool of Bethesda, who wanted to be healed. All he needed to do was believe in God\rquote s ability, and make the effort to stand up. God worked the miracle, and gave the power, but the man needed to exercise his faith.\par \~\par If we will reach out our hand, saying, "Lord, I believe. What would you have me to do?" He will take our hands, and lead us to His Word, saying, "Receive My Word into your heart." As we say, "Yes, Lord," and choose to cooperate with Him, He takes over, and leads us on step by step. And He does this through His Word.\par \~\par Wordkeeping is the Highest Education we can receive. Wordkeeping is what we\rquote re here for, because it is what enables us to learn to think like God does. Then Satan can have no more power over us.\par \~\par If you were put in solitary confinement, without anything to read or see, what would you think about? What\rquote s in your mind? If you have eaten God\rquote s Word, it becomes a part of you. Your thought processes are redirected to think like God. What a rich treasure your mind contains!\par \~\par The Word of God reveals discrepancies in our thoughts, attitudes, and behavior, so that we can recognize our need for change, assent to God\rquote s truth, and submit to His transforming power. Then our thoughts will be brought into harmony with His thoughts, the Word will become a permanent operating principle in our lives\par \b\~\b0\par \cf1 Through God\rquote s help, we need to retrain, and educate our minds to think correctly. Thoughts are amazing; they dart here and there, going to whatever attracts our attention. While we can choose what we think about, keeping our thoughts on a worthwhile topic can be a tremendous challenge. You can be sure that Satan will be doing all he can to divert your attention away from the Word. He makes worldly pleasures and entertainment incredibly appealing. \cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Here\rquote s a challenge for you. If you happen to watch a movie or secular TV again, take note of everything that is portrayed that is against the noble, elevating principles of God\rquote s Word. I think you will be shocked to realize that Satan is insinuating his diabolic principles constantly. Lust, pride, rebellion, dishonesty, greed, self-indulgence and all manner of evil are woven throughout almost every movie, show or commercial. Do you really want Satan to be in charge of your mind\rquote s education?\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 If we have filled our minds with nonsense and foolishness, those habitual thinking patterns will keep pulling our minds down into the low levels. It will be almost impossible to keep it on lofty themes. But your efforts will be richly rewarded, as you begin to enjoy the sweetness of Wordkeeping. If you are willing to persevere, your mind will automatically turn to the holy and pure topics instead of foolish or evil thoughts. \cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Bible memory is one of the very best ways in the whole world to restore our minds to their God-given ability to think good thoughts. Exercising the faculties of the mind in this way brings miraculous regeneration. Even the murderous mind of a hardened criminal may be restored through Wordkeeping. No penitentiary or rehabilitation program can fix a criminal mind, but the Word of God can. Scripture that is hidden in our hearts does more for us than we can imagine. It takes us out of Satan\rquote s cruel hands and puts us in God\rquote s loving hands, forever!!\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 The power of the Word to restore our minds is the greatest evidence of the power of the Gospel. When we think upright thoughts, we will have right actions. And this is God\rquote s divine plan for all of us.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Wordkeeping is so much more than a casual reading of the scriptures. It is allowing the awe-inspiring Words of God to penetrate so deeply that evil thoughts are expelled. It takes determination and perseverance. It is a challenging task, like climbing a mountain. But the exhilaration and heavenly view is well worth the effort!\cf0\par \~\par \cf1 If we diligently educate our minds with the truths of the Bible, it\rquote s principles will become imbedded in our hearts. After a time, we will discover that our tastes have changed! We no longer enjoy worldly entertainment. Instead, we take delight in pursuing that which is uplifting and ennobling. Wordkeeping actually creates a desire for more Wordkeeping, until all of Satan\rquote s worldly educational sources are avoided like the plague! Wordkeeping becomes an antidote for the Satan\rquote s mental poison.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Do you want you mind to grow stronger and think more clearly? Far more than any other pursuit, Wordkeeping will increase your powers of comprehension, and sharpen your thinking abilities. Like the psalmist says, \ldblquote This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_119:50\cf0\ulnone . Quickened means to be restored to life and health, to be revived from discouragement and despair. That\rquote s what God\rquote s Word does for us. How important is that!\par \~\par The trials and hardships in life will have one of two effects on us: make us bitter or make us better. And what determines the outcome? Are we Wordkeeping or not, are we connected to God or not. We can\rquote t avoid the trials, but we can benefit from them if we are walking in the Word.\par \~\par What a comfort and solace the Word of God is to our grieving hearts. Here is where we find hope and consolation. We are not going through these trials alone; there is One by our side Who walked this way before us. He is guarding, guiding, strengthening us in each difficulty.\par \~\par These are not mere platitudes that I am writing. I have experienced the power of the Word in a very personal way, in a very difficult time in my life. God\rquote s Word was my anchor, to keep me from acting out in an irrational way, to keep me on a steady, upward path. I remember singing a scripture song, \ldblquote The joy of the Lord is my strength,\rdblquote and meditating on the meaning. Though I was going through an extremely painful experience, I sensed the presence of the Lord filling me with a joy that I\rquote d never experience before. He was my strength, and I did find joy in the midst of pain. \par \~\par There are many other scriptures that have become very precious to me during difficult times. One that especially spoke to my heart was, \ldblquote From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_61:1-2\cf0\ulnone . Oh, how we need His sheltering arms when our hearts are overwhelmed! \par \~\par The Word reminds us, \ldblquote Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.\rdblquote \cf1\ul 1Pe_4:12-13\cf0\ulnone .\par \~\par Life may be going along just fine when all of a sudden, bam! We\rquote re in deep trouble. We never know when our difficulties will show up. But they will come, that\rquote s for sure. How foolish it would be to face those hard times without the comfort of the Word. That\rquote s why I believe it is extremely urgent that we Wordkeep now, while we have the opportunity, before the really hard times come.\par \~\par God\rquote s Word should always be very near to us. We know not when we will be in a desperate situation, and need to draw upon its power for sheer survival. When we cry out to God in our emergencies, let it be to a God with whom we are familiar, whom we have rejoiced in during our good times. We need Him in the good times more then we could ever realize, because that is how we are prepared to face difficult times. If we walk with angels during the fair weather, we will have no doubt that they are by our sides when the storm comes. We can\rquote t count on good circumstances, but we can count on our loving Savior. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit will lift up a standard against Him. Let\rquote s make sure of whom we trust this very day.\par \~\par This is a text I often quote: \ldblquote If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?\rdblquote \cf1\ul Jer_12:5\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par This reminds me that if I can\rquote t handle small irritations and petty trials, how do I expect to deal with the big ones? Now, in times of relative peace and prosperity, we must learn to run faster than the footmen. That\rquote s what God\rquote s Word will enable us to do.\par \~\par Wordkeeping reveals God\rquote s character to us, so that our resolve to honor Him is strengthened. It fosters a hatred for sin, as we come to see how much it has hurt God. It creates a longing in our hearts to be with God, not only in tough times, but all the time. \par \~\par Thank God for His precious, comforting, strengthening Word!\par \par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \~\~\par \cf1\ul\fs20 Col_3:23\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Awyd, dih, attL, anum;\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_4:16\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 FtLhsdfhwas, wtvota, awttoG: atdiCsrf:\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_4:17\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Twwaaarsbcutwtitc, tmtLita: asswebwtL.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_4:18\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Wcoawtw.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_5:16\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Re.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_5:17\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Pwc.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Th_5:18\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Ietgt: ftitwoGiCJcy.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 1Ti_6:6\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Bgwcigg.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 2Ti_2:15\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 StstauG, awtnntba, rdtwot.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 2Ti_3:16\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 AsigbioG, aipfd, fr, fc, fiir:\par \par \par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \~\par \cf2\f1\fs23 If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf2\f1\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f0\fs24\par \pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\f2\fs22\par \pard\cf2\kerning36\f1\fs23\par } B%Day 19{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Arial;}{\f2\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f3\fswiss%yDay 18{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}\fprq2\fcharset0 Calibri;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING & EMOTIONAL HEALING\par \pard\kerning0\b0\fs24\~\par You hear a lot these days about emotional healing. There are many wounded souls in the world, beat down by the tragedies and abuse heaped upon them. Naturally, we all want to be emotional whole. Unfortunately, the unbiblical principles of psychology have woven their way into the seminars and books written by some Christian authors. We have been taught about our \ldblquote inner child\rdblquote and our need to go back into our past to find healing. These theories are not only unbiblical, they are against the wisdom found in the Word of God.\par \~\par Psychology urges us to \ldblquote deal\rdblquote with our issues, and to get out of \ldblquote denial.\rdblquote God wants us to deal with our issues, too, but He has a better way than what the world offers. There is no better antidote for depression, self-centeredness, discontentment than sincere Wordkeeping. Self-pity melts away under the light shining from the Word.\par \~\par Focusing on the Word of God takes our minds off of ourselves and our troubles. It gives us hope and encouragement. Psychology wants us to focus on our negative feelings so we can fix them. Psychology tells us to feel them, and express them, and experience a kind of catharsis through the pain of expression. Crying, venting, through deep emotions is all part of the therapy.\par \~\par God says, don\rquote t look back, Press forward. Leave all the old baggage with Him. He will set things straight in the judgment, and we can trust Him to be loving and fair. \par \~\par Are you in denial? Now, there is a time for us to be in denial. That is self-denial. We must deny our rights to wallow in our self-pity. We must deny our rights to focus on our pain. If we do go back into our past, it should only be to remember how good God has been to us.\f1 \ldblquote\f0 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_77:11-12\cf0\ulnone .\par \~\par The emotional healing that comes from Wordkeeping does not have any false psychology mixed with it. It is pure healing, straight from God. You can depend on it, because it works. The Word of God is our counselor.\par \~\par Notice in the following passage how we are called to praise God for His goodness. Even when we rebel, and go against the counsel of His Word, He still helps us when we call on Him. What a wonderful God we have!\par \~\par \pard\li720\ldblquote Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_107:8-15\cf0\ulnone\fs20\par \pard\fs24\~\par Praising the Lord is incredibly healing for our bruised souls. \cf1\ul Psa_22:3\cf0\ulnone tells us that God dwells with those who praise Him. Praise lifts us up to God, and fills us with joy. It draws us near to God\rquote s heart. It\rquote s impossible to remain depressed when we are praising the Lord. It\rquote s an automatic cure, a powerful cure for depression. (We\rquote re referring to the depressed state we get ourselves into by negative thinking, not clinical depression.)\par \~\par Negative thinking is what catapults us into a downer mood. The Word of God is available to set our thinking back on the right track, to put uplifting, inspiring, hopeful thoughts in our minds. Singing a song of praise to God chases away the blues, and puts a song in our hearts. \par \~\par \cf2 We find effective solutions for our problems in the Word. We find peace and direction. We find freedom from fear, anxiety, and stress. When we are filled with anxiety, it is a sign that we are not trusting in God. By immersing ourselves in His Word, we begin to build trust, and our anxiety fades away. Our priorities get straightened out as we focus on God. \cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par \cf2 When we struggle with fear, we find that \ldblquote perfect love casteth out fear.\rdblquote Knowing that God loves us, and is watching out for us takes away our fear. We need to memorize the text, \ldblquote The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_34:7\cf2\ulnone . As we read His Word, we will find courage and hope in God\rquote s faithfulness in protecting His children.\cf0\par \cf2\~\cf0\par \cf2 Truly God is the master healer for all our wounded emotions. \ldblquote He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.\rdblquote \cf1\ul Psa_147:3\cf0\ulnone\par \~\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \~\~\par \cf1\ul\fs20 Heb_4:16\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Lutcbuttog, twmom, afgthiton.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Heb_9:27\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Aaiiaumotd, battj:\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Heb_11:1\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Nfitsothf, teotns. \par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Heb_13:8\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 JCtsy, atd, afe.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Jas_1:5\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Iaoylw, lhaoG, tgtaml, aun; aisbgh.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Jas_1:27\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 PraubGatFit, Tvtfawita, atkhuftw.\par \par \cf1\ul\fs20 Jas_4:7\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 SyttG. That\rquote s what witnessing is \endash sharing our faith, hope and love with others. Wordkeeping equips us to be able to give a reason for our faith, in a way that is not offensive, but that will glorify God.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 When we allow our lives to be shaped by the Word of God we possess an earnestness and dignity that will inspire those who observe us. Our stability and sincerity that we receive from faithful Wordkeeping will be a like a light shining in the darkness. Our influence will be elevating. Many who have never opened the Bible will be drawn to God through the lives of His faithful followers.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 The Word of God, faithfully applied to our lives, furnishes us with interpersonal skills that God can use to win souls for His kingdom. Our language will become refined, our conversation pure. People will sense that we have a wisdom not of this world. Our lives will testify that we have been with Jesus.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Before we make an effort to speak for Jesus, we must make sure He is in our hearts. Filling our minds with scripture will give us a sense of preparedness, saving us from the awkwardness of ignorance. That doesn\rquote t mean that we must memorize hundreds of scriptures before we can witness, but we must be exposing our minds to the Word, familiarizing ourselves with it at every opportunity. \cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Our lack of diligence in Bible study will only make any efforts to witness embarrassing and uncomfortable for us. The Holy Spirit can teach us, in 1 hour, enough to go and share what we have learned. But if you don\rquote t take that time, don\rquote t expect to have anything to share. \cf0\ldblquote They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.\rdblquote \cf2\ul Psa_126:5-6\cf0\ulnone\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 If you are faithfully Wordkeeping, it won\rquote t be difficult to share the spiritual blessings you are receiving. It will be impossible to keep them in! Witnessing comes naturally to Wordkeepers.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 The psalmist sets forth the invitation, \ldblquote Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.\rdblquote \cf2\ul Psa_66:16\cf1\ulnone . The testimony of our personal experience is the most powerful witnessing tool available.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par \cf1 Witnessing is also referred to as sharing our faith. Where do we get our faith? From the Word. So we are sharing the wisdom that comes from the Word with others. Talk about being qualified: notice what the psalmist says about the wisdom the Word gives us: \ldblquote I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. \cf2\ul Psa_119:99-100\par \cf1\ulnone\~\cf0\par Many study the Bible only to be able to win theological arguments. They may discover doctrinal truth, but if they don\rquote t receive it into their hearts, it only makes them miserable to be around. If the Bible student does not obey the Word, he is not Wordkeeping. He may even memorize the entire Bible, but so did the Pharisees and Sadducees. Remember what they did to the Living Word! We must be not only hearers, but doers of the Word. Then our lives will truly be a witness for our wonderful Savior. \par \~\par \ldblquote But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.\rdblquote \cf2\ul Dan_11:32\cf0\ulnone Are you willing to do life-risking exploits to share the Word of God with others? Would you be willing to die for the truth? We wouldn\rquote t die for something that we didn\rquote t love and appreciate. Wordkeeping will give us a zeal for the glory of God that will make us willing to give our very lives to uphold His Word. \cf1 We must know the truth, so we will be willing to stand firm for truth.\cf0\par \cf1\~\cf0\par The Word inspires us with the holy boldness of men and women of God who have been willing to lay down their lives for Him. We will find courage in the stories of great faith. Holy men will become our heroes. \par \~\par \ldblquote And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. \cf2\ul Dan_12:1\cf0\ulnone\par \f1\~\f0\par \~\par Here are your ten texts for today.\par \~\~\par \cf2\ul\fs20 1Jn_1:9\par \cf0\lang9226\ulnone\fs24 Iwcos, hifajtfuos, atcufau.\par \par \cf2\lang1033\ul\fs20 1Jn_3:4\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Wcstatl: fsittotl.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 1Jn_4:7\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 B, luloa: flioG; aeotliboG, akG.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 1Jn_4:8\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 HtlnknG; fGil.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 1Jn_4:19\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Wlh, bhflu.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Jud_1:24\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 NuHtiatkyff, atpyfbtpohgwej.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Rev_3:20\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 B, Isatd, ak: iamhmv, aotd, Iwcith, awswh, ahwm.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Rev_14:12\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Hitpots: hattktcoG, atfoJ.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Rev_21:7\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 Htosiat; aIwbhG, ahsbms.\par \par \cf2\ul\fs20 Rev_22:14\par \cf0\ulnone\fs24 BattdHc, ttmhrtttol, ameittgitc.\par \par \par In His Love,\par Linda Kirk\par (805) 239-1120\par \~\par \cf1\f2\fs23 If you are blessed by "21 Days to Renewal", visit \cf0{\field{\*\fldinst{HYPERLINK "www.wordkeeping.com"}}{\fldrslt{\ul\cf3 www.wordkeeping.com}}}\cf1\f2\fs23 for "30 Days to Connect with Jesus" and more.\cf0\f0\fs24\par \pard\sa200\sl276\slmult1\f3\fs22\par \pard\cf1\kerning36\f2\fs23\par } O% Day 21{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f2\fswissE%uDay 20{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0{\fonttbl{\f0\froman\fprq2\fcharset0 Times New Roman;}{\f1\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Arial;}{\f2\fnil\fcharset0 Georgia;}{\f3\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Calibri;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green128\blue0;\re\fprq2\fcharset0 Calibri;}} {\colortbl ;\red0\green128\blue0;\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;} {\*\generator Riched20 5.40.11.2210;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\sb100\sa100\lang1033\kerning36\b\f0\fs48 WORDKEEPING \endash the Value of Wordkeeping\par \pard\kerning0\b0\fs24 Applying the Word, through Wordkeeping is more valuable than any amount of money, fame or possession you could acquire. The precious Word of God is the greatest prize available to man. It will help save our own souls, and the souls of many who are under our influence, especially our children. What could be more precious than that! Wordkeeping is laying up treasure in heaven, because it lifts our thoughts, desires, and interest to heavenly these, and readjusts our priorities, plans and purposes so that we will carry out God\rquote s perfect will for us.\par \~\par It is a horrible tragedy to neglect the Word, and in its place, read a worthless novel, or watch a trashy movie! More than that, it\rquote s even a tragedy to neglect the Word for a good book, or a good movie! There is absolutely no excuse for neglecting the Word.\par \~\par Isn\rquote t it enough to read the Bible once? \ldblquote Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;\rdblquote \cf1\ul Joh_8:31\cf0\ulnone . Here He\rquote s talking about perseverance. Continuing to keep the Word in our minds means that we must keep it fresh, keep ingesting it.\par \~\par Every text you add to your mind is precious, valuable raw material that you in faith are putting into the soil of your heart. You are trusting God to take that seed, and cause it to germinate, exploding into spiritual life in your heart. The supernatural thoughts and actions that result are priceless treasures of God\rquote s doing, bring glory to Him. Self is left out of the equation, there is no self-praise or congratulation. God is using the earthen vessel to produce a rich harvest of precious fruit. What an blessed privilege we have of becoming gardens for the seed of the Word. Let\rquote s diligently plant the seeds!\par \~\par What does this mean to you: \ldblquote The flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life\rdblquote ? Jesus is trying to helps us understand the value of taking in the Word, and making it a part of us. Every thought and decision is to be shaped by the Word. The flesh, our thinking process, without the Word, is of NO value! I repeat, Absolutely NO value! That is heavy! If I have not taken the Word into my being so that it guides every thought I think, then I am wasting all my God-given energy in whatever I am pursuing.\par \~\par If we imagine that we are too busy to Wordkeep, all we are doing is fleshly works in all our busyness. We must take time to Wordkeep, every day! If you starve your soul, how can it function? Only the flesh can operate then, and that is WORSE than WASTED time. \par \~\par We have spent 21 days examining the benefits and value of Wordkeeping. It is my prayer that these truths become lodged in your heart, so that you will continue to pursue God\rquote s Word with fervor, for the rest of your life. This is the secret of success and prosperity for your life. Remember \cf1\ul Jos_1:8\cf0\ulnone \ldblquote This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt h ave good success.\rdblquote\par \~\par If you have time to eat, you have time to Wordkeep.
